This character cottage is nestled in an award-winning development in the village of Lindale, on the edge of the Edwardian town of Grange-over-Sands. Barn Owl Cottage offers lovely accommodation and makes an ideal base for families and small groups of friends for exploring the fells and lakes of the Lake District, with Lake Windermere less than 5 miles away. This superb cottage offers two bedrooms, along with a modern bathroom on the ground floor. Upstairs, the open plan living area has a high-vaulted ceiling with original beams, together with comfy sofas to relax in after a day out exploring this lovely part of Cumbria.
Outside is an enclosed garden with patio furniture, perfect for taking advantage of warm weather during the gentler months. Just up the road there is a shop and Post Office and a few further minutes walk away is a good pub serving food. A short drive from the cottage is Grange-over-Sands, which has lots of interesting shops and restaurants including specialist bakers, chocolatiers and butchers. The parade close to the railway station has some excellent tea rooms, so why not enjoy brunch before jumping on the train to cross Morecambe Bay to explore Arnside and Silverdale which are in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With the beautiful village of Cartmel and the Foulshaw Moss Nature Reserve close by, there is something for everyone. Being within the Lake District National Park, a little further afield, there is a host of villages including Hawkshead, Ambleside and Bowness-on-Windermere to enjoy. Whenever and whatever the weather, this lovely cottage will be a great place to stay at any time of the year.
The small village of Lindale is situated in the south of the Lake District National Park, just a few short miles from Grange-over-Sands.It has a true 'Lakeland feel' with narrow streets, quaint stone dwellings, two traditional pubs and an 18-hole golf course. Cartmel, with its delicious sticky toffee puddings a ten-minute drive away. The pretty coastal resorts of Arnside and Grange are all neighbours and worthy of a visit. Just a short drive away is Lake Windermere and the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere, and Hawkshead - which still retain the charm and character that has endeared them to so many.
