York is a ¾ hour drive where there is a wealth of history with York Minster, The Jorvik Museum and the Railway Museum to name but a few of the sights. Alternatively explore Studeley Royal, a National Trust site, together with the amazing rock formations at Brimham Rocks. Shop 2 miles, pub/restaurant ½ mile.
