Summary: I’m afraid there are several points which need to be raised after our stay. Firstly, there was no hot water on our first morning, Saturday the 20th August. After my husband contacted the manager it was eventually switched on! One of the plugs in the master bedroom sink became firmly stuck! One of the showers didn’t produce hot water even when the water was switched on. Whilst the bed linen was wrapped and laundered the beds were definitely not very comfortable. One or two mattresses well past it. We have a small holiday home which we rent so I know the standard I have for bedding so I was amazed none of the beds at the property had mattress covers or more surprising no underslip pillow cases. The pillows were very poor. Unfortunately, we think there is a wasps nest under the eaves maybe. My husband hoovered up at least 50 sleepy/dead wasps from the master bedroom floor, window sills on our first evening. We had to keep the windows firmly closed for the rest of our stay....... not ideal as the weather was hot. Again in the morning my daughter in law found the back patio littered with wasp bodies. The kitchen equipment was sufficient for our needs but we were fourteen people and there was only cutlery for 13! One of us had to use a serving fork and forfeit a knife! Outside, a leg had sheered off one of the garden chairs.... fortunately no one was sitting on it but pulled the chair out and the leg dropped off. The chair cushions were very stained . Some of the patio slabs are loose and cracked which could be dangerous with small children or in our case elderly guests. We were very concerned by a large long hanging branch from a garden tree....... if that fell on anyone they would be seriously hurt so we told the children to stay away from that corner as one evening was quite windy. I am sorry this is such a long list of points which should be addressed by the owner but owning a holiday property myself I am very aware of a standard that guests expect when paying( as in this case) a lot of money for a weekend stay. We enjoyed a happy family gathering nevertheless and didn’t allow the numerous above issues to spoil our stay.
