Positive: The cottage was in a good location for going into Whitby and also driving to local points of interest, shops and eating places. Bonus was parking in the front of the cottage, in your dedicated garden area. It was comfortable and well equipped in the kitchen. Bedrooms had ample wardrobe and drawers storage. Quite a home from home.

Negative: Whitby, North Yorkshire, is walking country and very dog friendly. The cottage would benefit if it had provided a shoe rack or space for walking boots/shoes and facility to hang coats, especially wet ones, as you entered the cottage. Apart from wardrobes there was no where to hang walking jackets or coats. We used 2 of the 4 dining chairs for our jackets/coats and placed them by the door as you entered, shoes went underneath them. The freezer box/department of fridge was so thick with ice I had to defrost it before I could use it.

Summary: Lovely cottage, just needed a bit of TLC.
