Bodmin Moor is only a short drive away to the North. Also within easy reach are the many beautiful gardens on the south coast. The historic city of Plymouth is just a short drive away, where there are many sandy, surfing beaches on the north coast, including Newquay with its zoo and Blue Reef Aquarium.
Alternatively, why not visit the harbour towns of Port Isaac, where the TV series of Doc Martin is filmed, and Padstow, with its variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, including Rick Stein's famous fish restaurant. Beach 10½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
