3 Bedroom Cottage in Dinas Cross
Meadowlands is a charming stone semi-detached cottage located in the hamlet of Iet y Bontpren, Dinas Cross, nestled between the seaside towns of Newport and Fishguard. Retaining some of its original features, parts of this traditionally furnished cottage are over 400 years old.
On the ground floor, you will find a well-equipped kitchen/dining area that leads through to a large wooden conservatory, along with a bathroom, utility room, and cozy lounge with an open fire. The second floor features an en-suite master bedroom with a king-size bed, a double bedroom, and a twin bedroom.
The cottage sits in half an acre of grounds, which include a stream, a natural spring, an enclosed fish pond, woodland shrubbery, and a grass lawn area. The grounds also have a picnic table, perfect for enjoying an alfresco meal or a 'Teddy bears Picnic.'
Modern amenities include oil central heating, an electric hob, built-in oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, 32" TV, video, a well-stocked bookshelf, and WiFi. Fuel and power are included in the rent. Please note that Meadowlands does not have a charge point for electric vehicles, and charging from within the property is prohibited. Bed linen and towels are provided, but guests are asked to bring their own cot linen and beach towels. A cot is available on request, though there is no high chair. The property offers off-road parking for two cars.
The Pembrokeshire Coast Path can be joined nearby, offering superb views and the chance to spot seals, birds, dolphins, or porpoises. A short drive from the property are the two coves of Pwll Gwaelod and Cwm yr Eglwys. The public service bus and the local coastal bus can both be caught a short walk from the property.
Nearby attractions include Dinas Island, Strumble Head, Newport Sands, and the charming towns of Newport and Fishguard, both of which host weekly farmers markets and offer plenty of galleries, individual shops, eateries, and pubs. Meadowlands is part of a group of three individual cottages within 50 yards of each other, making it an ideal location for larger groups or families looking to stay close together.
The scattered village of Dinas Cross has a well stocked mini market store and a pub, and nestles between the Preseli Mountains and the wonderful Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Pwll Gwaelod and Cwm-Yr-Eglwys beaches are both minutes away, both with breathtaking scenery offering the opportunity for tranquil days in perfect settings, and are almost unnoticed by the general public unless they leave the main route through the village. Nearby Newport is a quirky seaside town steeped in history, with various shops, tea rooms and pubs and is also a great place to go boating. With castles, mills, craft centres and golf courses galore scattered all over this beautiful Welsh county, this is the perfect base for a break all year round.
