Summary: Unfortunately I can't recommend staying here. Although the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was not clean (the floor looked un-vacuumed, the mirror had paint stains and fingerprints on it) and our room was provided a towel with several stains on it. The staff were very quick to replace the towel when I brought it to their attention. The room had a kitchenette, which was very nice and would be an affordable way to eat in London if you're staying for a long period of time, but the kitchenette sink was the only one in the room (no bathroom sink), and the sink has a shelf quite low overtop of it, so doing routine things like washing your face and spitting after brushing were very difficult and resulted in hitting your head each time. It was very hot while we were there (no problem, generally) and while the hotel did provide us with a fan it was a poorly-functioning one with an uneven cage over the front so the blade hit the caging each time it rotated. This resulted in an extremely annoying sound and we couldn't figure out how to fix it. We did not bring this to the attention of the staff (I'm sure they would have been helpful if we had). Luckily, the windows opened, but they don't stay open without a support and there was nothing provided to prop them open. Overall, the place is in a great area and there are friendly people around, but it's an old building so you can hear everything and it was not very comfortable.
