The Post Office is located in the Church Bell Tower and there is a Trout farm located within walking distance with three well stocked lakes.
Whitwell takes its name from the ‘White Well' that which you will find in the village, which was historically visited by many during mediaeval times on pilgrimages and now the village dresses the well annually each summer.
