Ballabeg is centrally situated on the Southern plain of the Island and is well suited to explore the beaches, walks and facilities of Port Erin, Port St Mary and Castletown each of which is only three miles away. The Isle of Man has an excellent frequent bus service with a bus stop immediately opposite the property offering direct connections including to the airport and sea terminal up to 3 times per hour.
Less than half a mile from the Billown Circuit, Brookville Cottage offer the ideal base for those looking to watch the pre-TT classic Road Races in late May or the Southern 100 Road Races which take place in early July each year. Ballabeg railway station is a 10 minute stroll, where you can catch the Isle of Man Steam Railway south to Port Erin or Port St Mary and north to Castletown and Douglas.
There are three golf courses nearby including the 130 year old Championship Castletown Golf Links. In Castletown you can also visit the magnificent medieval Castle Rushen once home to the Kings and Lords of Mann as well as the three other Manx National Heritage sites The Old House of keys, The Nautical Museum and The Old Grammar School all within the town centre. You can also explore the variety of shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs, as well as an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts and bowling green.
